A Family Session

I was so glad to recently to share an evening in Comox with this beautiful family. It was such a delight to be in their company, and I am glad to share some of the photos. Photographing families has become something I really look forward to, now that I have figured out how to make it FUN! One of my favourite ways to plan a session is to visit somewhere that the family holds precious, and take an adventure there together. Being able to document the joys of childhood, and hold those seeds in a treasury for when the children are older, is also something meaningful to me. Someone recently told me that I was always smiling as a child, but the only smile I know is the one I made when my mum held the camera up, and we posed. I go on a quest for the real smiles, the ones that surface when we are deeply feeling the joy in a given moment. I suppose I equally treasure all the other forms of expression too, including inquisitiveness, calmness, perplexity:) I guess I just love my job. Looking forward to more family sessions soon!
